    I like Stephin Merritt’s return to a bit more of an acoustic / folksy type of sound on this album. This band continues to hold my attention year after year, album after album.
  • Beach House Teen Dream (Sub Pop)
    This band is a new find for me, and I find them perfect for listening during cold Chicago winters.
  • Charlotte Gainsbourg IRM (Because Music)
    The more she sings, the more I like her. This album seems more polished and steady than her last, which is a good sign of things to come.
  • Various Artists Daptone Gold (Daptone)
    Virtually everything that Daptone Records releases, I fall in love with, and this is no exception. There’s not a stinker in the bunch!
  • Mojave 3 Out of Tune (4AD)
    Lately I’ve been revisiting the late great Mojave 3, and the album Out of Tune in particular. I miss this band, and am sorry I never got a chance to see them.
